Elgin Public Museum

Elgin Public Museum is in Elgin, Illinois. It is a museum dedicated to natural history and arts. The museum has an outdoor park which contains historical monuments and also nature trails through the scrub forest along the Fox River's banks.

The museum hosts many events throughout the year including exhibits featuring glass art in late February-early March, the Butterfly Festival in May, children's day in June, family crafts days in August, Fall Harvest Day in September and Halloween event for kids. As if that wasn't enough reason to visit this place it is also home to world's largest blue whale skeleton measuring 85 feet long .

Phone: 847-289-9211 . It is open daily from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm except Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year Day. Admission is $8 for adults and $5 for children. Parking fee is free where there are lots of spaces around the museum.
